Many 3PL matchmakers advertise themselves as “free” to eCommerce brands, but did you know that they often take a % of your total 3PL invoice as payment? The amount these matchmakers get paid ranges from 1% to 10% of your total 3PL invoice, and the length of this term can be from 1 year all the way to perpetuity (for as long as you remain a client of that 3PL). Spend $2 million with a 3PL annually? A matchmaker might be making anywhere from $20k to $200k annually.
